Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

On 30 July 2016, Autodesk acquired ZWCAD, which was developed by Zambezi Software and was first released in 1997. The company said that the acquisition will allow Autodesk to expand its capabilities in the field of 2D drafting and provide an opportunity to leverage the work being done in 3D modelling and design.
In October 1983, Autodesk began marketing AutoCAD, initially for use on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers (i.e., the Apple II, Commodore 64 and IBM PC) but later also supported on mainframes and minicomputers running the IBM PC DOS or Apple Macintosh. The first version was released for PCs in December 1982 with a version for microcomputers following in 1984. By the end of 1986, more than 500,000 copies of the application had been sold. In 1987, Autodesk bought and renamed Heddon Engineering Ltd., which had designed and created AutoCAD for the microcomputer platform and then developed it further for the PC platform.
In October 1988, Autodesk released AutoCAD LT for the Windows operating system.
During the 1990s, Autodesk supported with AutoCAD on the Macintosh platform and introduced AutoCAD 2000 and AutoCAD LT for the Windows platform.
In 1995, Autodesk announced the release of AutoCAD 2000 for the UNIX platform and AutoCAD 2007 for the Windows platform.
In 1998, Autodesk introduced the new Graphisoft licensing program. Under this system, users can purchase one license for each computer to which they wish to install AutoCAD.
In 2001, the product AutoCAD was removed from the Apple Macintosh platform. In the same year, Autodesk introduced the OpenDWG initiative, a new publishing standard to create interoperability between different design tools.
In October 2003, Autodesk released the first edition of AutoCAD Map 3D, designed for the web.
In 2005, Autodesk acquired H.K.A Design Software, a provider of 2D and 3D CAD software for large-scale design and modelling.
In January 2006, Autodesk announced the release of AutoCAD 2007 for the Windows

The ECAD (Electrical CAD) module allows you to perform electrical calculations and schematic designs.
As of version 2018, AutoCAD Mobile is compatible with the iOS, macOS and Android platforms and includes drawing and annotation tools to create drawings and other media.
WorkSpace is a technology that allows users to design, create, and share drawings on a mobile device. The drawings are available in the cloud and available to the user when connected to Wi-Fi or hotspot. All drawings that are uploaded are stored on a cloud-based storage where they are accessible from any device. WorkSpace also allows users to save drawings, send files via email, and allows multiple users to access files concurrently.
Google Play and the Apple App Store do not allow apps that only use the AutoCAD API, however apps using the Direct XML Library (DXL) or XPort library can easily be made that utilize the Autodesk APIs.
Autodesk Plugin Central, developed by Autodesk, gives a collection of Plugins, or add-ons, and a plugin installer. Plugins can be installed in AutoCAD via the plugin installer or via the Plugin Manager.
Autodesk Exchange Apps
Autodesk Exchange Apps, developed by Autodesk, are similar to plugins but are part of the AutoCAD application itself. Using Exchange Apps is easy as they are installed with AutoCAD and run under the same login process as the rest of the application. There are hundreds of Exchange Apps available on the Autodesk Exchange Apps application and some of the more popular apps include: AutoCAD Architect, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Raster, AutoCAD Structural. There are a number of Exchange Apps specifically designed for various specialty fields like architectural drawing (AutoCAD Architect), mechanical engineering (AutoCAD MEP), electrical and telecommunications (AutoCAD Electrical), and surveying (AutoCAD Raster).
The Exchange Apps can be accessed by opening up the Autodesk Exchange Apps application on a computer. The Autodesk Exchange Apps application can be found in the category “Autodesk Exchange Apps” within the application stores.
Additional Third-party Plugins
Third-party plugins, or add-ons, can be installed into the AutoCAD Application via a plugin installer. Autodesk Exchange Apps also allow

Some patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) require tracheostomy for better ventilation or for the treatment of their OSA. However, it is difficult to place a tracheostomy tube because of difficulties in passing it through an abnormal airway. The 2-octyl cyanoacrylate (2-OCA) tissue adhesive has been used for airway management in various procedures in the head and neck. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of 2-OCA for airway management in patients with OSA. Retrospective chart review of patients with OSA who were treated with 2-OCA for airway management in our hospital from December 2006 to April 2007. We enrolled patients whose trachea was inaccessible because of poor visibility or large laryngeal edema or that were difficult to intubate with an oral approach. The tongue was coated with 2-OCA and the trachea was intubated using a transoral approach. We assessed the change in laryngeal edema and the cephalometric changes in patients using dynamic 3-dimensional computed tomography (CT) images obtained before and after the use of 2-OCA. Thirty-six patients (mean age, 51.8 ± 10.6 years; range, 22-68 years) were enrolled in the study. After the use of 2-OCA, the condition of the airway improved in patients with laryngeal edema. All patients were able to tolerate oral feeding immediately after using 2-OCA. Dynamic CT images showed that the size of the trachea decreased after the use of 2-OCA. 2-OCA is useful for airway management in patients with OSA.Should the restriction on the separation of personal and governmental financial responsibilities apply to all
What’s New in the AutoCAD?
