## Chapter 10: Raster Graphics

“Fold in on itself.”

“Fold out on itself.”

Raster graphics are represented by a set of pixels. Raster images are created by combining images or graphic elements, and then placing those elements in a particular order. Though raster images are usually made up of pixels, they are created using some sort of mathematical formula. For example, a graphic image may be created from a mathematical calculation (a mathematical formula) or a set of values (color and value).

A mathematical formula for a raster image may be thought of as an equation. This equation may involve variables with a specific number of degrees of freedom. This equation will produce a single set of pixels that will be interpreted by a raster graphics program. A formula, in this context, is quite different from a mathematical function that is used to generate a random number.

Raster Graphics

Raster graphics may be thought of as digital images created by a computer program, rather than photographs or drawings that are printed directly onto a piece of paper. In other words, they are created by combining one or more source images or graphic elements in some sort of order.

Adobe Photoshop was one of the first software packages to work directly with raster graphics. These graphics are the digital version of the photo-printing process that uses a high-resolution scanner to read a photograph, and create a digital image. This allows for complex compositions using various geometric elements that can be placed in any order. There is also a great deal of flexibility when it comes to editing raster images. Most of the time, this type of image doesn’t have transparency, so when it is used for coloring, you can apply a background color that is the same as the original image.

Raster graphics are the cornerstone of Photoshop’s industry-standard brand of digital image editing software. These files, which can take a variety of file types, can be edited for any number of reasons—most often for color management.

Raster formats are also used for

The features of Photoshop range from very basic.

A user can use Photoshop CS2 or above to use the pen tool, which allows for painting on images, creating a vector image. The pen tool allows for very accurate pixel work.

A user can also use Photoshop to create custom brushes.

Also included with Photoshop are certain content-aware tools, which allow an image to retain the content within an image that would normally get lost when duplicating the image.

A user can use the file browser, which has methods to insert images within the software. A user can also open and modify external images.

A user can use the selection tool for selection in an image.

A user can use the eraser tool to remove parts of an image and be able to manipulate the pixels.

Photoshop CS5 also includes the content-aware tools.

To replace a selection, the user needs to use the content-aware tools. This tool allows the user to be able to see the contents of an image and to replace the area that the user selects.

Photoshop has content-aware tools, which allow an image to retain the content within an image that would normally get lost when duplicating the image.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to use the Magic Wand tool.

This tool is a magic wand tool used in an image, which lets the user select the area that the user wants to retain the content of.

This tool will also retain the location of the selection.

To completely remove an area of an image, the user must use the eraser tool.

This tool allows the user to remove individual pixels from an image.

Photoshop can also edit an image, which is created from a photo, which is an image captured by a camera. A user can also manually edit images.

Photoshop can also be used as a drawing tool.

With Photoshop, a user can also create their own custom brushes.

The brush settings of Photoshop are customizable.

A user can be able to use the perspective lines to paint an image.

Photoshop can also use live curves.

A user can be able to use live curves to create and adjust curves.

With Photoshop, a user can save a drawing as a layered PSD or use imported brushes.

Any user can use Photoshop to create textures.

A user can also design web sites and logos

Q:

Docker Network not running as Expected (Python Flask app)

I have a Flask app running in a Docker container and I am trying to connect it to another Docker container.
I have a “static” container that has nothing on it at the moment.
Docker network explorer is telling me that I have only one container on my Docker network.
I run the Flask app using
Docker run -p 5000:5000 –rm app

Here is my Dockerfile:
FROM python:3

COPY. /app
WORKDIR /app
RUN pip3 install -r requirements.txt

COPY. /app
RUN pip3 install -r requirements.txt

CMD [“python”, “run.py”]

And my docker-compose.yml
version: ‘2’
services:
static:
image: flake8
build:

dockerfile:./Dockerfile-flake8
volumes:
-.:/usr/src/app
ports:

app:
image: app
build:
context:.
dockerfile:./Dockerfile
depends_on:
– static
expose:
– “5000”

networks:
appnet:

I run the docker-compose up command and the Flask app starts but it doesn’t have access to the contents of the static container.
COPY./static/static/static:/usr/src/app/static
COPY./app/init.py /app/

## What’s New In?

Q:

Find the minimum distance between a point and a line segment

The question asks us to find the minimum distance between the point $C(x,y)$ and the line segment $AB$.
My Attempt:
$AB = (x-2) \times (-2) + (y+2) \times (-2)$
$AC = x-3$
$BC = y-1$
$d=\sqrt{((x-3)^2+(-2)^2)+(y+1)^2}$
$d=\sqrt{(x-3)^2+(-2)^2+y^2-2*y+1^2}$
At this point, I am stuck because I do not know how to find the minimum distance between the point $C$ and the line segment $AB$.
The solution seems to be obvious, but I fail to see it.
Can someone please explain to me how to find the minimum distance between the point $C$ and the line segment $AB$?
Thank you!

A:

You have to choose some points on the segments. Let’s take
$A=(1,0)$ and $B=(0,1)$.

Find the distances from $A,B$ to $C$: $d_1=|AC|$ and $d_2=|BC|$.
If $d_1d_2$ choose $D=(x,y)$ with minimal $y$ so that $|AC|=|C(x,y)|$.
In both cases we choose the nearest point to $(x,y)$.
(If $d_1=d_2$ we stop our search).

Find the radius $r$ of the circle touching $AC$ and $BC$.
Choose $E$ on the circle with the minimal distance to point $C$ (we are done if
$|CE|=|AC|=d_1$).
